Registration is now open for the 10th Annual G-CAN International Research Symposium!
Whether you will be traveling to the Washington, D.C. area or joining us virtually, the leadership of G-CAN invites you to join us November 13 and 14 as we celebrate a decade of supporting and sharing research in the field of gout, hyperuricemia and crystal-associated diseases.
In-person sessions will be at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, Virginia. However, those who are unable to travel have the option of attending virtually as in the past four years; presentations will be live-streamed, and speakers will be able to answer questions and participate in breakout sessions either in person or via the internet.
This year’s meeting has an exciting line-up of speakers and presentations on the most recent gout and crystal-associated diseases research. A full agenda of the symposium topics and speakers can be found here. The two days of general sessions will be held on Wednesday, November 13, and Thursday, November 14.
General Session 1 on Wednesday features the Crystal Arthropathy Clinical and Basic Research Year in Review, the G-CAN Presidential Emerging Career Investigator Awards, the H. Ralph Schumacher Award Lecture, Early Career Investigator SPARK abstract presentations and a special session on The Gut Microbiome in Hyperuricemia and Gout.
After the first day’s general session, attendees may choose between two workshops: Clinical Study, Imaging, Flares and Trial Design for Hyperuricemia and Gout or CPPD and BCP in Joint Cartilage Calcification.
General Session 2 begins 8 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday with what is sure to be one of the session’s highlights; “The Great Debate: First Line ULT: XOI for All or Customized to Mechanism of Hyperuricemia?”
Day 2 also includes the G-CAN Gold Medal Award Lecture, a summit session on Immunometabolism in Crystal-Induced Arthritis, the presentation of the First Annual G-CAN Junior Faculty Investigator Prize, the Crystal Arthropathy mini symposia, and mini-lecture presentations by the Early Career Investigator MAPS awardees.
